Last night was a freakin' blast at The Soda Gallery with Ginger Valentine.
Today will rock at Industry Giants with Ginger Valentine.
The grand finale for our extravaganza will be SATURDAY at Club Dada with BLACK MARIAH!

We ran into her last night at The Soda Gallery and she shared with us some of the tricks that will be in her bag for Saturday. It will be awesome. Wear your flip-flops.

February Session!

We are so happy to formally announce our February Dr. Sketchy session.

Please note there is a change in venue for February... Our next session is at Hal Sample's SPACE STUDIO at 2814 Main Street in Deep Ellum.

We are super excited to host at Hal's SPACE. There will be plenty of room for sketchers to spread out and take full advantage of drawing Ginger Valentine from every angle.

We are also very excited to bring Red Stripe beer on board as a sponsor. They are very excited to be involved (geez- lots of excitement) in Dr. Sketchy--- and--- well--- we love their beer. Hooray beer! There will be plenty on hand.

Also, as I mentioned in a previous post here on this bloggy thingy, Again and Again vintage resale furniture is also a sponsor- with some great help making our sets more exciting to draw.

.... and and and...
Ginger Valentine will have a special performance for us that you will not want to miss. Hot.

So lets see--- Drinking? yep. Drawing? yes. Dames? of course... Games? Yes totally.

Excitement for the New Year...

There is so much going on and so much to report in the world of Dallas Sketchy... but, dear reader, I will need to keep you in suspense a bit. But for you... just you... I will reveal a little bit...

As we mentioned at our last session, our February model will be Ginger Valentine. Naturally.

Give us a couple more days and we will announce the full details of the session... we will be doing things a bit different this time.

I also want to announce an exciting new sponsor we will be working with.
Again & Again!
If you are not familiar with Again & Again- you will be. It is the funkiest and best vintage furniture shop in town. I have loved this place since they opened their doors right next to Pandemonium at the corner of Henderson and Bonita in Dallas. Since starting Dr. Sketchy in Dallas I have wanted to borrow some of their fantastic furniture to help make our sets more interesting. Starting in February- they are generously going to be providing something lovely for our muse to perch upon.

Also, we are putting together our line-up of models into the Summer. We are even planning on a fantastic outdoor sketchy at one of the most fantastic spots in town... fingers crossed...

Hooray! January 2009 with Hansel von Quenzer

Thanks to all of the Art Monkeys who came out to help us kick off 2009 Sketchy-like.
Big thanks to Hansel von Quenzer who now holds the title for Most Inventive Sketchy Poses, earned during the 1-5 minute poses. Nice work.
It was also quite a treat to have Ginger Valentine stand in on a few poses with Hansel to offer up a bit of ... skin... yeah- we know what you artists want to see.

This time I actually remembered to bring my camera to document the merry occasion.
